Mello Privacy Policy

Effective 20 October 2026

This policy covers the Mello browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium browsers ("Mello", "the extension"), made by Average Bots ("we", "us"). It explains what the extension does with your information.

The short version

What the extension reads

To show your boards, Mello reads the Trello data your account can already see: your boards, lists, cards, labels, checklists, comments, attachments and the members of those boards. It reads them through the Trello sign-in already in your browser. Mello never sees or stores your Trello password.

Where it is kept

Mello keeps a copy of that data, and your settings, in your browser's extension storage on your own device, so it can open quickly. It stays there until you remove the extension, which deletes it.

Where it is sent

Requests go directly from your browser to Trello (trello.com). When you change something in Mello, such as moving a card or editing a due date, that change is sent to Trello, the same as if you had made it on Trello's website.

If you add another board server to Mello, it will also talk to that server. Your browser asks for your permission first, and Mello only contacts servers you have added.

Nothing is sent to Average Bots or to anyone else.

Why it asks for each permission

Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, share or transfer your data, and we do not use it for advertising, creditworthiness or any purpose other than showing and editing your own boards. Mello's use of data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Children

Mello is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

This website

averagebots.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Like most web servers, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser and the page requested) for a limited time to keep the site running and secure.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If Mello ever starts handling data differently, the policy will say so before it does.
